Top 5 viewpoints of Ronda

Ronda is characterised not only by the rich history and culture that has bathed the city over the years, but also by the beautiful and striking natural environment that surrounds it.

You can admire this beautiful setting from one of the many viewpoints in the city, where, as well as enjoying unforgettable views, you can relax for a while and take a rest from your stroll through all the streets and attractions of Ronda.

ALDEHUELA VIEWPOINT

Let’s start with one of the most visited tourist attractions in the city. This is no coincidence, as the urban viewpoint of Aldehuela offers one of the best views of the cliff over the Tajo and the Puente Nuevo.

The name of this viewpoint is in honour of its architect, José Martín de Aldehuela, who was also involved in the construction of the Puente Nuevo in the 18th century, as well as many other buildings in Malaga.

Don’t forget to make this obligatory stop on your visit to Ronda.

PUENTE NUEVO VIEWPOINT

Considered by many to be the best viewpoint in Ronda, the Puente Nuevo viewpoint, or Mirador Urbano del Tajo de Ronda, is, together with the Puente Nuevo, the most visited monument in Ronda.

Located on the Tajo river, and almost 100 metres high, you can enjoy views of the natural surroundings, as well as of the city itself with its hanging houses and the different parts of Ronda.

You’ll be left breathless!

PASEO DE LOS INGLESES

This unique space is not only a viewpoint, but also a place where you can stroll with the best views of the city. Located on the edge of the cliff that delimits the Hoya del Tajo, it will offer you an unforgettable walk.

Its name comes from the 20th century, when it was a promenade closely linked to the Hotel Reina Victoria, the lodging of English engineers who regularly strolled along it.

At different points along your walk, you will find stone benches facing west, where you can enjoy an excellent sunset.

VIEWPOINT OF CUENCA

From this viewpoint you can also enjoy excellent views of the Puente Nuevo and the natural surroundings of Ronda. To reach it you will have to walk until you reach the Jardines de Cuenca, located on the edge of the Tagus and so called because Cuenca is Ronda’s twin city.

When you are in the gardens you will be able to enjoy them and all the flora that surrounds you, such as the beautiful rose gardens. From these gardens and its viewpoint you can contemplate the gorge and the Guadalevín river, as well as impressive views of the Puente Nuevo.
