The White Villages
If you feel like exploring the area we would suggest a lovely day-route bringing you from the Hotel to:
Arriate - there is always something going on. The only time you might find the streets empty is on a Sunday afternoon between 3 and 5 pm when it is siesta-time.
La Cimada- with The Lodge Ronda. If you are planning to return to our region and have something to celebrate you might want to have a look at our Lodge, a luxurious rural villa for small groups. From here the road is stunning until you get to:
Setenil - see picture. Many houses in Setenil are build in the rocks. There are plenty of bars along the river from which to marvel at the formations while having a drink.
Olvera-from Olvera´s top- the village is pouched nicely on top of a hill- you can admire great views.
Zahara de la Sierra -The village lies on top of a mountain overlooking a lake. You might want to have something to eat or drink in a lovely restaurant run by Mona and Stephen with views over the lake.
Grazalema- Grazalema is the wettest place in the whole of Spain. Not because it rains so often there, but because IF is rains- believe it- it is not mainly in the planes. A wonderful road awaits you with cork-oakes lining the roads and piggies snuffeling between them. You can see the Neilson Gallery for the very special present and have lunch on the main-square afterwards.
Now you might want to still see beautiful Montejaque or Benaoján or come home for a swim or a rest and leave some more specially beautiful white villages down the road towards Algeciras for tomorrow.
